MoE Term 1 2024 Half Term Dates Rescheduled. On Friday, the Ministry of Education released the calendars for teacher training institutions and pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools for the year 2024.
After 13 weeks of instruction, the first term of the pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools will begin on January 8, 2024, and end on April 5, 2024.
They will take a three-day half-term break from February 29 to March 3 and then a three-week vacation from April 8 to 26 in the meantime.
The second term will last for 14 weeks, ending on August 2 after a half-term break from June 20 to June 23.
The students will then go on vacation for another three weeks, beginning August 5-25.

The final term of the year will run nine weeks, from August 26 to October 25, preparing the way for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) exams on October 28-31.
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will thereafter take place from November 4-22, during the extended December holiday, which will last from October 28 to January 3, 2025.
Teachers’ training colleges, on the other hand, will open for term one from January 8 to April 5, followed by a holiday from April 8 to 26.
Term two will begin on April 29 and last until August 2, with holidays set for August 5-30.
The final term will last 11 weeks, from August 26 to November 8, before the long December holidays, which are slated for November 11 to January 3, 2025.

Most of the venues for the drama festivals will be schools.

Due to this, the Ministry has been forced to reschedule the half-term dates for the host schools so that there will be room to accommodate the learners.
The selected schools will be forced to break later or early for the first term break to pave the way for this important activity.
New closing dates will be communicated later as teaching progresses.
